While Macomb County Department of Roads performs maintenance on our roadways throughout the year, all roads are subject to the freezing and thawing process, which has been amplified by the mount of precipitation we’ve received this winter. Our maintenance teams are working diligently to fill potholes

🕳️ REPORT A POTHOLE 🕳️ The quickest and most efficient way to report a pothole is to submit a service request for road maintenance at macombgov.org/departments/de…. Select “road maintenance” and include as much information regarding the pothole location and cross streets.

Patching potholes during the winter months is similar to applying a bandage. It doesn’t repair the damage. Cold patch will fill potholes so tires don’t plunge into them. It's a temporary fix until weather allows for more long-term maintenance solutions or rehabilitation work.

For the safety of the motoring public and to ensure we have an adequate supply each winter, Macomb County Department of Roads orders salt multiples times per year. While Michigan’s weather can be unpredictable, we have enough salt on hand should Mother Nature throw any curveballs before spring.

We sat down with Local 4 WDIV Detroit and our colleagues from Oakland County Roads, Michigan and Wayne County to discuss pothole season and what the new state funding means for local roads and county road agencies. youtube.com/watch?v=dXGN9u…

Behind the scenes at Local 4 WDIV Detroit. It’s always a great day to talk about roads, bridges and infrastructure funding. While the new state funding won’t fix every local road overnight, it will help make sustainable progress. Watch the full discussion here ➡️ youtu.be/dXGN9u_DlxQ
