An urban planning professor who would've been a thug if he didn't like sweaters, discussing inequality, and French films so much. He keeps it real though.

Just summed up the last three years of my research on a poster at TRB. It's weird, seeing it all boiled down to a bunch of text boxes on a piece of cardboard, like a 5th grade science fair project. It is admittedly a huge piece of cardboard though.

If you look at history, it’s much simpler: Every generation of white kids are concerned about Black Lives for 1 summer, then the fad wears off And whether it’s integration, busing, “lost cause” or BLM, every generation of white parents eventually mobilizes to spit on Black kids

I can’t imagine the sheer grief this cast worked through to produce a film—following one that made more than $1 billion—after Chadwick’s untimely death. Bravo to Ryan Coogler and the entire cast. Even the trailer will move you to tears.

Has any researcher modeled a global scenario in which the U.S. stops subsidizing fossil fuel companies/oil-producing countries and instead subsidizes renewable energy production and research? How quickly and effectively could it be done without destabilizing the world economy?
