I have come to despise icebergs. On a frigid, drizzly, morose kind of day, it dawned on me that Greenland has declared war and is sending these frozen behemoths to plunge us back into the last ice age. Goodbye, my friends.

The big guys have returned. The Great black-backed gull (Larus marinus) have returned as well. Locally known as Saddlebacks, they are the largest member of the gull family. Also known as the king of the waterfront.

Berkeley professor apologizes for false Indigenous identity sasktoday.ca/indigenous-new… Yet another Pretendian but one with the decency to apologize for Indigenous identity fraud.

Lately, the early morning quiet has been disturbed by a family of Common ravens (Corvus corax). Ornithologists rank them third on the intelligence scale behind humans and dolphins. I'm not so sure anymore. Humans should rank third.

And the Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) have returned. Locally known as Fish hawks, they are native to every continent. They nest near bodies of water and feed mainly on fish. Wingspan nearly 2 meters. They can spot fish from a height of over 50 meters.

The Ring-bills (Larus delawarensis) are the last to arrive in spring because of their long migration route. These two have regularly appeared on our property for the past ten years. We call them George Bush and his missus. George struts about; the missus is shy.

Went to harvest iceberg ice, but this guy is not giving up his bounty on a calm day. Have to wait for windy conditions. No 15,000-year-old ice cubes for that drink tonight.

Those who are MUN alumni look on in horror at the gross misuse of public funds and the incompetent administration of that university. The embarrassment of hiring and firing a president who practiced Indigenous identity fraud was just the tip of the iceberg. The clock is ticking.
