aaaah this crabby missive really nails the "obstinate town grumps ruin great [project/investment/idea/thing] for brookline" vibe brookline.news/re-a-high-end-…

in classic brookline fashion tonight... town meeting voted to refer (rather than passing) a modest zoning change that had been well-researched, vetted, and voted on favorably by multiple boards of experts, out of unsubstantiated fears of teardowns we must do better

when the TSP treats the schools as equal (instead of the priority), we are making a choice to weaken our education system during deficit years this is the wrong choice

proud to endorse Michael Rubenstein for Select Board! among many other reasons, he's the only candidate who voted in favor of Brookline's mbta communities act compliance (and even led the Yes! In Brookline campaign that supported it)

as we creep up on the May election, I would like to propose brookline's grumps may choose one (*but not both!) of opposing property tax overrides OR reflexively opposing all construction projects sorry but we cannot afford to have it both ways

very cheeky. I am not saying you are required by law to tell us how you will vote but you are a public servant, and this is a crucial policy position that should inform people's own votes are you supporting it or not
