In possibly history’s okayest year for movies, this was genuinely exceptional.

Absolutely deranged behavior to edit down one of the most classic films of all time that runs a perfectly respectable 2h10m. If you have that low attention span, maybe just uh don’t watch the movie or better yet, pause it? This and the colorization drive me up a wall.

The Brutalist intermission

Funny that I have little fondness for Villeneuve’s oeuvre or attachment to his supposedly distinctive style and yet, Dune: Part Two is handily the best blockbuster of the year. One of the only good ones tbh (Twisters and Gladiator II acceptable). Great on its own terms.

Maybe I’m getting soft, but I adored A COMPLETE UNKNOWN. Found its focus on the music and relative lack of hokey melodrama very refreshing. I may be the biggest fan of Timothee Chalamet who isn’t parasocially/sexually attracted to him.

I think this is one of the most perfect character designs ever.
