Friends, please, please amplify. The NYPD are now raiding City College. Reports are hundreds of cops. Please, I know that what happened at Columbia tonight is sickening--but this is Part II. And our @cuny students are largely working class students of color.

Columbia University is the largest private landholder in Manhattan. This is their army.

In the building where I'm currently blocked in by police, they won't let me out despite showing many of them my NYPD press pass, students chant as more are lead away in zip ties who'd been blocking 'Hinds Hall'

there are between 20 and 50 protestors occupying a building

so ashamed to be associated with this rancid institution. columbia loves to parade its protest history as a liberal status symbol, but in the end they'll happily grandstand about the community's safety while calling a horde of cops on their own students
