One barrier to understanding autism in women is sexualization of symptoms. As an AuDHD woman, I’ve had many stalkers & sexually harassing & abusive situations with men because (as seen in this video) my “quirks” were sexualized & seen as invitations to things I didn’t consent to.

In esoteric teachings, the unseen refers to spiritual realms felt but not seen, realms that have been mostly erased from mainstream consciousness. Thus, it’s no surprise that our world’s compassion for mental health issues — illness you can’t see — still isn’t where it should be.

When I chose my username handle “entertheunseen”, it was inspired by this truth — that that which is unseen spans the realm of the spirit and the psyche, that the two are intermingled in a way that is undeniable. Mental health is spiritual & our world needs to honor the unseen.

The best mystical writers always have a tinge of blasphemy, except it is not true blasphemy. It is simply them asking you to challenge illusion, drop the veil of that which is false, see into the real & bear witness to Truth. Truth is blasphemous to the unawakened & rigid-minded.

The greatest mystics make you feel as though you are doing something forbidden in reading their secrets — as if it is an illicit romantic affair just to engage with their words. Because, their words alone have the power to deconstruct the illusions you had been taught were real.

the lack of knowledge, understanding, and compassion for the mentally disabled is deliberate. ableism is just another agent of white supremacy, placing the the value of others on their mental/physical capabilities. forcing people to conform with white supremacist ideals

Ableism is one of the most acceptable forms of bigotry. It’s everywhere. Disabled people are looked down upon by almost all groups in society. Viewed as “useless eaters” and expendable. Most people don’t even consider discrimination against us to be “real” discrimination

You need psychology and spirituality. If you only have psychology, you run the risk of too much headiness and analysis. If you only have spirituality, you run the risk of bypassing your human nature. You must develop both.
