My Year 9s, who find English a challenge and have low reading ages (mostly below 10 years) started reading Macbeth today, and I couldn't be prouder of them. Two of my EAL students have taken on roles and a student who usually hates reading has also volunteered to read🥹🥹

Rsad both of these in the space of three days ... such good books, looking forward to starting book number 3 this evening!

Off to Lithuania for four nights in December🇱🇹

I have a south facing classroom which reached temperatures of almost 40⁰ inside. It was uncomfortable to say the least😅

Last Friday with my tutor group (I'm moving to Year 11), so I treated them to breakfast and we did an awards ceremony with some silly awards to end what has been a very enjoyable (yet equally challenging) two years with my tutees. I'll miss them🥺🥺

Sometimes, you don't need to travel abroad because some of the best things are right on our doorstep. I'm absolutely loving Belfast!!🇮🇪

Running a four week Tour Guide training programme with our Year 9 prefects and they got so into their research, thinking about how they can make their tours both informative and fun, and it was such a joy working with them. Looking forward to the next three sessions with them😁

Tomorrow is Culture Day at school and, since I don't have any cultural wear, I decided to make my tutor group a Victoria Sponge (nothing more British) and some vanilla cupcakes in lieu of wearing something British🍰

A Year 11 told me that my cake was 'leng' which I think is a good thing, so I'll take it😂😂

Honestly love it when ex-students come to see me and share how well they're doing in life, always makes me proud to have played a small role in their journey🥹
