I bought a monstera over the summer & I am literally obsessed. I've owned house plants before but I have never been so excited about new leaves appearing. Do others feel this way about their plant babies?! Is this was what peak mid-30s feels like?!

My 7 year old has been selected to play the oboe. It's such a gorgeous instrument & she's very excited. I'm a clarinetist so not entirely ignorant about woodwind...but has anyone got any oboe-playing tips and tricks?

Class, lads! The Holylands is a student area of Belfast that usually gets a bad rep so it's good to see some positive publicity for once!

I've lost all mojo for X. I'm sad because I loved the community we built here but it feels different now. So, what do we do? - BlueSky? - LinkedIn? - Stay & weather the storm? Would love to hear if you've got BlueSky or LinkedIn & if it's worth the move.

What about relevance? Don't even bother. It might look & feel fun in the moment but it is patronising to limit the curriculum to a child's existing interests. Give ALL children an ambitious curriculum, not a 'relevant' one. Teach then well & Shakespeare BECOMES relevant. 3/

If you have kids aged 6-12 ish you must get them a Yoto player immediately. Gutted we didn't do it sooner. 6 yr old listening to 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' & following in her book. 8 yr old has started the 'My First Classics' card pack with The Snow Queen. Bliss bedtimes!

It's been a week in NI education! With a new curriculum review published & a new teacher CPD Academy launched through InnerDrive, can we tentatively say things are looking up? As an Eng HOD I anticipate lots of work ahead as we start to 'TransformEd' - but it's exciting!

I have a mammoth to-do list to complete before the end of term but would happily spend all my time tweaking booklets and schemes. Adding 'Curriculum Links' roadmaps to all schemes for 2025/26 to really chart curriculum connections for students.
