Lower material requirement = better for the environment Concentrated energy sources like nuclear & natural gas require less material throughout their life cycles. Energy sources that use less material are better for the environment.

What about CO2 emissions? The biggest reduction in US CO2 emissions over the past 20 yrs have resulted not from shifts toward wind & solar but from shifts away from coal toward natural gas: Energy CO2 reductions: 61% = Natural gas replacing coal 31% = Wind 8% = Solar

It took 4 years to build a nuclear power plant in the 60s, in the US, and 16 years today. Government regulations are picking the winners and losers in energy with little regard for the planet.

This is really something: City of Toronto official David knows his city's power comes in part from a local nuclear plant, and he is also celebrating the small space it takes up. This is the future of urban energy: cities learning about nuclear energy, then learning to love it.

California does it with mandates. Texas is just economics.
