Great to hear Newcastle Hospitals endocrine surgeons @petertruran and Jason Ramsingh are doing the highest volume of adrenal surgery in the UK! And offering pioneering approaches to patients. Fab work from fab colleagues ๐Ÿ‘

As a (new) endocrinology consultant, A&G is a bit of a mixed bag, but I can see it gives 1ry care colleagues a means to ask us about things they (IMO) wouldn't refer. Perhaps more so in endo, which is highly blood test-centric and minor things common. Do any colleagues agree?

Personally, a red flag and a reset to pre-puncture positions seemed like the only fair option here. Races were ruined by the delay in their decision making.

Perhaps I am a cynic, but if I wanted to do a teaching post about advanced approaches to managing cardiac arrest, I wouldn't start by mentioning this was an elderly nursing home resident. Unless I wanted UK med twitter to amplify it for me!

These tax traps are a real issue. We have NHS consultants reducing the work they do so as not to fall foul of this. Similar with the threshold for taper when trying to do extra work on top of contract to cut waiting lists. Hugely counter productive & in our targets for mitigation

Public service announcement: In the UK this Sunday is Mother's Day AND the clocks go forward an hour. That means Mums are being cheated out of an hour of their special day, so best be extra nice.

As a consultant endocrinologist, I'd like to know what hormone analysis you're doing in your "biomarker" screen, and how you're interpreting the results. Unfortunately, I can't find this on your website.

We're very excited about this work! Using steroid metabolome profiling we found a unique hormone signature that could be used as a potential non-invasive diagnostic test for endometriosis. Please check out and share the preprint #endometriosis medrxiv.org/content/10.110โ€ฆ

What is this rubbish (apparently AI generated)? BY ALL MEANS increase awareness of TIA symptoms (only mentioned at the end!) but ain't nobody getting primary stroke prevention because they feel tired or nauseated!! This kind of misinformation is a sign of what's to come.
