Peter Anderson Mary Glindon I'm glad you've spoken to some residents. I'm really disappointed Mary wouldn't attend the hustings. I wanted to challenge her voting record on issues like abortion rights, gay rights and trans rights and how she will vote on climate action and addressing inequality.

I've been to Visit Totnes every summer for 13 years. This year, I had someone in a Ford Raptor blast their horn at me to move out of the way. My crime? It took me a moment to corral 2 young children and a baby in a pram onto the tiny pavement... 1/

Thank you Kidical Mass North East for organising family cycle rides from Fenham, Gosforth, Heaton, Elswick and Byker. Thanks to a flat tire and then a snapping hand pump, I bailed out in Heaton… 😑but it did give me more evidence of the work we need to do to make Byker safe for cycling!

Newcastle City Council under Newcastle Labour no longer doing anything to enable that. No school streets programme, active travel routes to schools stalled and LTNs ripped out. Let's hope whoever they pick as their next leader can turn that around.

Would much appreciate if people like/share this thread so the likes of Louise Haigh may see it. There were multiple people caught out by this on *literally* just my carriage on that day. TOCs must do better; why would anyone get the train if this is how they will treat you?

School streets in a nutshell, the safe drivers stay away (thank you), leaving only the more dangerous drivers. They can create a false sense of safety. Will Newcastle City Council accept public reports to fine these drivers? Or do we have to beg for an expensive consultation and ANPR..?
