Austin Statesman Crowd surging here at the JJ Pickle after hundreds seem to have made their way down 8th from South Congress. APD has brought dozens of bicycle officers and mounted officers as well.

And crowds are starting to approach APD despite police warnings that being on roads will lead to arrests.

Here in Austin’s JJ Pickle building protestors have approached police. Several hundreds, it appears.

New: APD in a statement said the protest has concluded. “With the exception of a small number of agitators, the event remained largely peaceful,” the statement shared on X said. “Additional details regarding the event will be shared in the coming days.” Austin Statesman
