Achievement Award Winner!! Hannah P. -10th flute—nominated for her kindness and she constantly improving her skills in band. She is also very involved in extracurriculars and still makes time to practice and be there for the band.

Achievement Award Winner!! Lance M. —9th trumpet—nominated for his improvement and dedication to the band. He is enthusiastic and always has a positive attitude. He is a great leader within his section.

Achievement Award Winner!! Michael S.—9th percussion—He was nominated for his respect and hard work. He comes in early to help set up and is always locked in during rehearsal. In addition, he is in Jazz Band Two.

Jazz Band One performed at the Iowa Jazz Championships in Ames today! Great performance and we brought home 3 solo awards! Well done! Thanks to everyone that made the drove today including some Regis jazz students! The awards ceremony is at 6:15 tonight.

Band Achievement Award Winner: Henry K. He was nominated for his friendliness. He is always asking great questions and always trying to improve his skills. He is always seen with a smile on his face, lifting his section up. Congrats Henry!!

Band Achievement Award Winner: Eli K. He was nominated for his humor and focus within band class. He is always ready for practice and is never afraid to ask questions. He has really branched out since the beginning of the year and is an amazing asset to our band family.

Congratulations to the Xavier Concert Band on earning Division One Ratings from all 3 judges last night at the State Large Group Festival in Mt Vernon. A great performance on some challenging literature. Bravo!

Class 3A All-State Jazz Band rehearsals are in progress!! Sounding great, even on the 1st run-thru of the music.

Caleb H and Ben A did an outstanding job yesterday performing with the All-State Jazz Band in Des Moines at the IBA Conference. Both had impro solos with the band. Their director, Annie Booth, was from Colorado and picked out some great music!
