The Ruto administration disrupted a long-running patronage system where media houses thrived on state advertising and kickbacks. With the financial taps closed, some legacy outlets are engaging in editorial sabotage.

Realignments happen every pre-election season. Institutional audits are standard governance tools. Anti-terror laws are legal instruments. But under media capture, all these are twisted into narratives of collapse and crisis.

Meanwhile, real progress,5% GDP growth, falling inflation, affordable housing rollout, 30+ new investors,gets minimal airtime. Why? Because good news doesn’t fuel political extortion.

Kenya needs fearless media,not one that sells headlines for handouts. Public funds are for citizens, not propaganda. Let the blackmail fail. Integrity must outlast intimidation. This republic is not for sale.
