A day spent at the West Somerset Railways diesel gala. Mostly behind 50033!! Unfortunately I was slightly dampened by the worst hay fever I've ever had... Anyway, managed to get a peak at the GWR HST set stabled and St Blazeys last 09!

Good to get to Diesel and Electric Preservation Group diesel bash yesterday and catch these visitors: 50 at Minehead, Peak at Bishop's Lydeard and 20s at Stogumber.

STRAIGHT THROUGH WASHFORD: 46045 With apologies for the wind noise, here's 46045 absolutely belting through Washford on Thursday with a class 1 express to Norton Fitzwarren. I really was in my happy place on this run, sun shining, fab loco, not a care in the world! More please!

Culmination of long and careful planning, skill and effort by Diesel and Electric Preservation Group team has ended today with Western D1010 separated into loco body (on stands), twin engines (in shed) and bogies needing 'a bit of work'. depg.org/2024/07/08/d10…

Our Hymek D7018 was started up at Williton for the first time in almost two years and sounded great. Transmission tests revealed some problems with the directional interlock mechanism but this is outside the transmission and will be sorted out in the next week or two.
