15 November 2024: Carol James, 81, was found with serious injuries at a property in Bexleyheath. She died at the scene. Brian James, 81, has been charged with murder.

5 July 2024: Scarlett Vickers, 14, was pronounced dead at a property in Darlington. She died of a stab wound. Her father, Simon Vickers, 49, is charged with her murder.

📣Reclaim the Night 🗓Sat 30th November 6pm, Bigg Market The more people get together, the more allies we have, the more we can change society so women can go out at night without fear – free of harassment and free to go about our lives without looking over out shoulders.

What. A. Night. Together we marched to #ReclaimTheNight and show- we will never accept violence and harassment and we will not stop until every woman is safe: Safe on our streets Safe in our homes Safe our workplaces Safe everywhere. Not just one night, but every night.

Our students created a speech on safety concerns for young women which featured in the Police Commissioner's Reclaim the Night speech. The quality of their speech drew media attention from Tyne Tees, Metro Radio, and Hitz Radio! Catch them on ITV tonight at 6.00pm!

Together with Workie Ticket Theatre CIC & @f@foundfuturene, as well as George Stephenson High School, this was made possible, and I'm so thankful for their contributions that helped co-create the piece I had the honour of delivering to those in attendance. 🤝 2/3
