Lord Moylan What's the capital doing, except inflating the asset price? It's not building new homes or creating living space. It's buying an asset (usually leveraged heavily) and then adding other costs and margins to charge to people with no choice but to pay. That's economic rent.

In the end he has to go because he will lose ministers faster than he can replace them and Nadine Dorries cannot do all the jobs in government

Trying to decide whether itโ€™s worse to be a hateful little bigot or someone who is willing to be a hateful little bigot if the numbers are there

Iโ€™ve seen a confidential document from Lynton Crosbyโ€™s lobbying firm which advises Boris Johnson to ride roughshod over every convention and standard of propriety to pack the House of Lords. [Thread] theguardian.com/commentisfree/โ€ฆ

And of course the increased mortgage payments massively outweigh the one off stamp duty benefit. And the energy saving isn't an actual reduction in bills. So disengenous tripe all round really. Especially bad as it's coming from a Govt not party account.

One of the most sensible takes on โ€˜cancel cultureโ€™ Iโ€™ve seen. Sensible, honest, smart. Iโ€™m posting the video directly as Times Radio tweeted it with a clickbait and somewhat misleading headline that unintentionally confirmed his point. More of this please.

Moving from Johnson to Truss feels like going from having Sideshow Bob trying to kill you to having Sideshow Bob trying to kill you but itโ€™s that scene where heโ€™s stepping on all the rakes

Stunning and devastating opening from Newsnight tonight. Harsh, yes. Media students (and current broadcast journalists!) take note: your edit is nothing without the right choice of music. And oh boy this is quite the choice.

THREAD: Here's a handy list of Tory MPs who said Boris Johnson had to go in July and are now saying he should be PM. It's been quite the journey for some...
