Cefas scientists are in Bahrain this week delivering training to partners in @SCE_BH on the analysis of microplastics in the marine environment. Knowledge exchange will allow for collection of baseline data of #microplastics in Bahrain🌊 Global collaboration on global issues!

More excellent reporting by Ian Urbina about abuse in seafood supply chain. Transparency needs to run the whole way through supply chains to ensure sustainable and equitable fisheries.

Blue Belt Programme is most exciting environmental project that I have been involved in. More ocean than the area of India under proper protection. Gave thanks to OT representatives for their leadership and hard work. Also my friends Zac Goldsmith and Oliver Letwin who made it happen

And awesome work by colleagues across Cefas working with partners across the OTs and UK to provide the evidence needed for effective conservation decision making 👏👏👏

"Insured losses from natural disasters in the U.S. now routinely approach $100 billion a year, compared to $4.6 billion in 2000." WOW Climate change is leading to systematic impacts on the global financial system. This is not just a story of marginal impact.

There is a lot happening in the news these days, but it seems like we should be paying a bit more attention to the fact that the world just saw its hottest day on record (in absolute terms), coming on the back of 13 straight record setting months:
