Wake County is working with its emergency alert vendor and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to learn why the “all clear” message was sent countywide, while other alerts were sent just to the Zebulon area.

The Raleigh Police Department is responding to a shooting in the 4300 block of the Circle at North Hills Street. Officers are on the scene. The public is advised to avoid the area as the investigation progresses.

11:15 AM Update—This is not an active shooter. The roads around the area are closed for the investigation, and the public is advised to avoid the area. Additional information is forthcoming.

1/17/2025 12:34 P.M. Three individuals have been shot, one adult male is deceased, one adult male is in critical condition, one adult male has non-life threatening injuries. Roads in the area remain closed. Seek alternate routes as the investigation continues.

1/21/2025 The Raleigh Police Department is currently responding to an active police investigation in the 600 block of Democracy Street. The public is advised to avoid the area as the investigation progresses. Additional information will be available soon.

1/21/2025 7:45 PM Update: The wireless emergency alert that was activated earlier has been lifted. The Raleigh Police Department will provide an update on this incident at the BP Gas Station located at 3310 Olympia Drive at approximately 7:55 PM.

1/21/2025 8:20 p.m. Update: An adult suspect is deceased and a Raleigh Police Officer is being treated at WakeMed with serious injuries. We will continue to release information as the investigation continues.
