Insertion of intrathecal catheter after a wet tap was found to reduce the need of an epidural blood patch in a retrospective Australian study. No significant difference if catheter left in < or > 24 hours. What is your practice? #PDPH #wettap #OBAnes buff.ly/2BH8mc7

Whichever nurses and ER docs have posted about alcohol swabs for nausea, that just worked for a patient with severe PONV. Now she gets to leave the hospital.

"Just an anesthesiologist" should be a rally cry for our specialty I am proud to be a physician who specializes in anesthesiology. I am proud of my colleagues who provide critical care and pain medicine, who fight for patient safety, who don't seek the limelight.

Surgeons on Twitter writing about how they "tricked" anesthesia into doing cases. As if we anesthesiologists are merely road blocks. why can't we all be a "team", trying to do our collective best? If there's a bad outcome, how is that ok? Or is that then "anesthesia's fault"???

This is the bedside Echo of a critically ill young lady who was transferred in profound shock, intubated, and on high-dose pressors. She was on the brink of coding. Her working diagnoses were "SEPSIS" and “NSTEMI”. (thread)

The key to Laryngoscopy is finding the Epiglottis. When the airway is bloody it will often “camouflage”, making it tougher to find. This makes it even more important to always be methodical: 1. Advance incrementally 2. Identify the Epiglottis 3. Expose the Larynx #FOAMed
