The Army has been called in to help clear the bins. 🥀This is Labour’s Birmingham-filthy and failing. High taxes. Collapsing services. Waste rotting. Rats running the show🐀 Britain deserves better. 🇬🇧 On May 1st, vote for the only credible alternative. Vote Conservative.

It simply won't work. The numbers here, overall, would be the same. Those failing to get permission to come will still make the crossing. We ought to be shutting down all dangerous journeys facilitated by evil criminal gangs; including to France. This is wholly inadequate.

"UN backing" is rather beside the point. The fact is, this model does nothing to solve the fundamental problem of being unable to return those from the biggest cohort nationalities back to their country of origin, so will keep on coming. It won't shut down the Channel route.

Awesome! Good luck, Adam - an amazing thing to be doing, for a great cause, and the crowds will all be willing you along come Sunday. Enjoy!

This, by Jenni Russell, is spot on. For a while I've been saying the judiciary & politicians need to wake up to the reality that these judgments are shredding public trust, consent & confidence in our institutions. It can't carry on. Something has to give. thetimes.com/article/75ae84…

Let's see where ECHR Articles 3 and 8 leave all this in due course. But, this is weaker than the law they're repealing: we banned anyone who entered illegally from claiming asylum. I'm afraid this is spin over substance by Ministers and by any measure a weakening of the law.

Heroes like the police officer who shot Chris Kaba are all that stand between us and the predators, thieves and maniacs. But because our society has gone mad, instead of a commendation, that police officer was put on trial for murder. I said at the time it was a disgrace and so

The comments themselves were crass, insensitive and totally outrageous. But I'm also staggered how Ministers are so categoric in saying there is no case for a national inquiry, despite the new revelations of recent months. How can they possibly be so sure nothing is amiss?
