#CCEDUletter2019 Again during the 2016 elections ccedu observed that in some places money as low as sh500 was used to sway voters. Should we really be spending the talking about money in elections anyway?I am Unstoppable

The 3 key challenges of Electoral justice raised in #CCEDULetter2019 are; monetization of elections and corruption in Electoral process, integrity of the national voters register and violence during elections.

I am Unstoppable Charity Kalebbo CCG Actually, the bigger vision should be to make elections as cost-effective as possible, and as accessible and as inclusive as possible. The cost of election administration should be kept low, and campaign spending should be kept to basic minimums... Shawn Mubiru Apollo Mubiru

With barely two years left to the 2021 general elections, it is critical that as a country, we (re)-activate indigenous spaces (ebimeeza, barazas, kacoke madit, cokere adit) for sustained strategic dialogues on issues of concern & shared values. #CceduLetter2019

Charity Kalebbo Duncan Abigaba Each citizen has a moral and civic obligation to summon their MP to support laws that strengthen rather than impede democracy. A law regulating the monstrous campaign expenditure is one of those progressive pieces of legislation and should be supported - in form and substance.

Faridah Lule I am Unstoppable تذاكر ||تكت ماستر ✪ Not that Government isn't prioritizing electoral reforms. However, the processes and systems must be followed. For example, the Minister for Justice can only table reforms after consulting cabinet. He promised to deliver by April & we should be optimistic #CCEDULetter2019

But Duncan Abigaba tell us why the laws on #Agelimit didn't follow all that process but electoral reforms can't be included it's just no respect for The people of Uganda #CceduLetter2019 تذاكر ||تكت ماستر ✪

Charity Kalebbo Yes. When MPs use their money to win electoral seats, they shy away from accounting to their constituencies - "because they bought their way into the House" and the "transaction" was completed back then.
