On 1st May 2012 Wiltshire’s Mayors met HM the Queen & Prince Philip at Salisbury Cathedral. I remember fondly the humour in the conversations. Shortly before this picture Prince Philip had asked me how I could possibly have been the Mayor of “Stonehenge” when “they have no residents”
The 11th Solstice lantern procession takes place today. Starting with the ceremonial lighting of the solstice lantern at Stonehenge as sun sets & a walk through Visit Amesbury to the magical grounds of Amesbury Abbey to see the lantern holding the light until mid winters day.
