👉👉New paper alert from SleepLüthiLab ! Newly promoted Dr. Cherrad, with Georgios Foustoukos, Laura MJ Fernandez and others combines stimulation of sensory neurons from the #vagus nerve with #sleep, #heartrate, temperature and #locuscoeruleus recordings Université de Lausanne #FBM #Neuro

💡Optogenetic stimulation of projection terminals is often thought to preferentially modulate downstream targets. In our recent fMRI study led by Li-Ming Hsu, we compared cell body and terminal stimulations, showing that potential antidromic effects shouldn’t be overlooked.👇

An analysis of 20 autism mouse models point to two subtypes: One displaying out-of-sync brain activity and impaired synaptic pathways, the other with too much synchrony and dysregulated immune pathways. By Calli McMurray thetransmitter.org/spectrum/too-m…

Not in my specific domain of expertise, but really “cool” and elegant work. Congrats Tomás Ryan and team!

Autism is associated with inflexibility of brain dynamics. Watanabe and Yamasue show that TMS over the right superior parietal lobule while the brain is ‘stuck’ in a certain state reduces this rigidity and relieves various autistic traits. Takamitsu Watanabe nature.com/articles/s4159…

Interested in cortical wave dynamics? Check out our new preprint led by J Cruddas with James Pang where we review the physics and physiology of cortical waves and their implications for psychological function: osf.io/preprints/psya…

Excited to share our new PNAS paper! 🎉 We examined the neural source of rs-fMRI FC using patterned optogenetic manipulation in mice 🧲🧠. A step toward answering a long-standing question. Fantastic work by Hyun Seok Moon Suk Jun Hong CNIR-IBS pnas.org/doi/epdf/10.10…

Excited to share our new preprint led by our mighty Alexia Stuefer Here we tackle a classic chicken/egg 🐣🥚 question in #autism and dev. neuroscience 👉Is excitation–inhibition (E:I) imbalance a "cause" or a "consequence of autism? 👉 tinyurl.com/32d3be9f Find out below🧵

Thrilled to share that our work is now published in Science Magazine!✨ We found a preference for visual objects in the mouse spatial navigation system where they dynamically refine head-direction coding. In short, objects boost our inner compass!🧭 science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… 🧵1/
