Shoutout to our Incident Meteorologists who provide critical support to wildland firefighting efforts. These weather balloons are released from camp, collect data, and transmit the data via GPS satellites. This then helps determine how a wildland fire may behave. #ItTakesAllOfUs

Effective Today 07/18 at 0730 MDT, the National Preparedness Level is being elevated to 5 (PL5).

#NationalFireNews: The National #PreparednessLevel has increased to PL5 as of 7:30 am(MDT). Significant wildland fire activity continues & hurricane response also remains significant & is projected to increase with the addition of another storm (Milton) making landfall this week.

#NationalFireNews: As of today, 01/08/25 at 1600 (MDT), the National #PreparednessLevel is increasing to 2. Significant wildland fire activity is now occurring in multiple Geographic Areas with those areas requiring national support to accomplish incident management objectives.

Effective today 5/14 at 0730 MDT, the National Preparedness Level is being elevated to 2 (PL2).
