Your reminder that both Tories + The Labour Party are REFUSING to support victims/survivors calls to erase the exploitative costs of access court transcripts. One rape survivor was quoted £7,500 for the transcript of her trial, another £22,000. This harms victims + denies justice ⬇️
Advice for scholars: next time you lecture on Kant and revolutions at “Downing” (Darwin College) Cambridge, make sure your hair is neatly tied and that you’re not blonde. Or else your research impact will be on the The Spectator libido section.
As suspected, it appears there has been little positive change in relation to the "limbo" of pre charge bail and RUI - as was argued by Roxanna Dehaghani @DrDanielNewman and myself last year
