Just finished this portrait of Rosa Parks who was born this day in 1913. I find her whole composure so powerful - unintimidated, graceful, calmly defiant; the face of someone who knows without a shadow of a doubt, that she is defying something profoundly wrong and unjust.

Israel has not only killed, maimed and traumatized Palestinians in Gaza. It has created (a set of) conditions calculated to bring about the destruction of Gaza.

Thank you Tata Steel UK for allowing me onsite at Port Talbot in October to start a portrait and audio-interview project with the steelworkers there, during a period of change and a shifting towards green-steel production. Here is a selection of preparatory sketches from life.
