This morning at approximately 11:45 a.m., crews responded to a reported structure fire on the 2200 block of Portsmouth. The caller reported seeing heavy black smoke coming from the basement and confirmed that all occupants had safely exited. Excellent work by all crews.

Earlier this morning at 3:53 a.m., fire crews responded to a structure fire which involved a commercial building surrounded by several other single-story commercial buildings. During the operation, a partial collapse occurred, injuring two firefighters.

On Friday, August 1st, WaughStrong Competition officially launched it’s partnership with Jeep Fest, kicking off the weekend’s festivities. WaughStrong is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for veteran and first responder mental health support.
