Children are victims of coercive control domestic abuse in their own right. They experience this abuse directly when targeted by the perpetrator and indirectly when used as tools of abuse against the non-abusing parent and when exposed to such.

Correction! I am being informed Susan Schechter coined the term #coercivecontrol, not Evan Stark who published “Coercive Control” in 2009. Googling to find out more brought me to this paper from 2007 digitalcommons.du.edu/cgi/viewconten… and Schechter’s 1982 book. Thanks Tracy Castelino!
