It’s okay to leave the camera at home and just enjoy the trip — and that’s exactly what I did on my last one! Everyone who knows me thought it was strange to see me without a camera.

For the animal to be happy it is enough that this moment be enjoyable. But man is hardly satisfied with this at all. He is much more concerned to have enjoyable memories and expectations—especially the latter. With these assured, he can put up with an extremely miserable present.

It's a great day! I just found a backup of a drive that crashed four years ago. I had written off all the data as lost and completely forgot that I had made a backup and stored it in the closet. I'm overjoyed! These two images were taken in Bali during a vacation in 2017. GM 😎

My rooftop used to be the most popular spot for shoots. Models felt free and creative up there—I hardly had to direct them. For me, it was more of a place to get some fresh air and maybe, just maybe, come away with a few good shots. This photo was taken over 10 years ago.

Getting the best out of people in a photo session is easy — you just have to let them be themselves. Become the observer; act as if you're watching someone dance, and capture what they express. In the end, photography is a dance.
