A very successful first juvenile bass survey using a Fyke net with ~ 600 '0' group bass netted. Thanks to Institute of Fisheries Management FinVision University of Plymouth for training, workshop and advice in juvenile fish sampling techniques

Fun day promoting new paper - Dr Thomas Stamp using historical ecology - 1871 French fishing map and acoustic telemetry to show regenerative effects of farm and value to commercially valuable lobsters 🦞 and crabs 🦀 interview on bbc Spotlight tonight 🦀 bbc.com/news/articles/…

Our Offshore Shellfish research was on BBC Breakfast this morning - lead author Dr Thomas Stamp sciencedirect.com/.../pii/S00489… tracks crustaceans in offshore mussel farm to show fisheries and conservation benefits - watch from 6:24 am bbc.co.uk/.../epi.../m00… University of Plymouth Biological and Marine Sciences

Just finished entering data for 2024... this small net has now been towed for 🏆>100km 🏆by Biological and Marine Sciences staff + Marine Biology UPSU students University of Plymouth @ beaches in SW England. Bravo net & all for 7yr effort: LT data on fish habitat use, & how / why fish populations vary is valuable.

Thank you so much to all the charter skippers and anglers providing data to the #PollackFISP project! 👏 Bryce Stewart Applied Marine Ecosystems Research (aMER) Plymouth Emma Sheehan Dr Thomas Stamp Rebecca Nesbit

Regenerative aquaculture and acoustic telemetry make a great pairing in this new study led by @Thomasstamp feat Dr Adam Rees. They used V9 transmitter tags on crustaceans to capture ecological benefits of offshore mussel farms. Bravo to the researchers! 🦞 #acoustictelemetry

Great turn out Royal William Yard for the FUTURES event where we got to talk to 100s of people about Applied Marine Ecosystems Research (aMER) Plymouth Lyme Bay MPA longterm monitoring work. So many people loving our marine videos! Thank you Chloe Renn 🍉 and our University of Plymouth student ambassadors! @Dr_Emma_Sheehan
