The failure of the UN Security Council to even consider a strong resolution on Myanmar this week was regrettable. Using it as an excuse for inaction would be unacceptable. Coordinated international action to support those under siege & hold the junta accountable cannot wait.

US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield has delivered a powerful message to the people of Myanmar & the world with a call to action:"The US stands with you...We cannot allow them (the junta) to succeed...only concrete action will change the military's calculus." Exactly.

I saw this image earlier today and can't stop thinking about it. So many young lives have been lost in Myanmar. Many of the 702 victims are young teenagers. But they're still on the streets and on social media protesting the military and begging for stronger international action.
