To my new HC’s Everyone has great ideas about parenting—until they actually become one. That’s when experience humbles theory, and wisdom steps in. Same goes for being a head coach. It’s never as simple as it looked from the sidelines. Seek wise counsel. Who’s in your ear?

You can feel the emotion but you don’t have to follow it. Feel fear? Act anyway. Feel nervous? Act anyway. Feel uncertain? Act anyway. Feel unmotivated? Act anyway. Emotions are signals, not stop signs. They don’t get to drive your decisions. You do.

PLAYERS: Before you question your playing time, honestly evaluate how you're using your practice time. Make sure that you're bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a team-first mentality to practice. Build good habits in practice. Find ways to be valuable. Make your teammates better.
