Our recent paper was published this weekend in PLOS Medicine. We report that severe violent victimisation requiring medical care is a strong risk factor for subsequent psychiatric disorders, suicidal behaviours and premature mortality.

Pretty fascinating programme for this conference in March on legacy of Emil Kraepelin. Also always great to see a healthy discount for trainees, for History of Psychiatry Special Interest Group members (& for those attending both days)

Findings from our pilot prospective cohort study on prison environment factors and self-harm are in print. A step towards good evidence in an important area, though limitations here include poss. of reverse causality. Work funded by NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) 🙏
