The sock monster is definitely prevalent in our house. Somewhere in the universe there are 42 toddler socks waiting to be paired up. 🧦 🙈

One of the reasons we're worried about #StormCiarán is because of the loss of 'capacity' within the soil as a result of #StormBabet. This animation shows how the soil moisture deficit changed across England and Wales 10 days ago - the dark blues showing 'saturated' catchments

For a mid-November lifted sample in what can only be described as “tricky” conditions, I’m fairly happy with how they wash up! Fingers crossed I’m feeling as positive tomorrow morning after a bit of peeling🤞🥔. Bonus points for anyone wanting to guess variety?!

Getting the 23 potato crop in a corner now but it looks like tonight’s rain is going to just beat us to the finish line 🏁. Considerably less than the 15mm of rain forecast would be greatly appreciated!!

Just as you feel like you’re getting to grips with one set of standards, a whole new lot get released 🤪 the mind boggles. Looks again like more encouragement to take land away from food production. 🌾

New one for me - stiletto fly larvae - I was panicking about a huge infestation of funny coloured wireworm in a potato field. Panic over (hopefully). Every days a school day! 🎓🥔

A slightly concerning lack of water use by our spuds in the last 10 days - feels like we have barely seen the sun! Good canopies, tuber numbers and moisture, but sunshine proving to be an important missing piece of the puzzle! 🌞🫣☁️🥔
