7.3 hectares of reclaimed land has been handed over to the Tuvalu Government πΉπ» by UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji. This handover ceremony marks a significant milestone in Tuvalu's coastal adaptation efforts by the TCAP project, funded by Green Climate Fund and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade π¦πΊ π¦πΊ. Fantastic to welcome Senator Sue Lines and fellow senators to the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project in Funafuti πΉπ» earlier this week. UNDP greatly appreciates the support of the people and Government of Australia in furthering coastal protection efforts in Tuvalu. Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade π¦πΊ


Together with Pacific Community and Tuvalu Meteorological Service, TCAPβs training efforts in Nui and Vaitupu among men, women, youth and people with disabilities aim to improve knowledge of coastal inundation risks and sea level rise. Next year, the team will visit other outer islands.
