The UK’s Home Office asylum application form isn’t even hiding how it’s surveilling the religious make-up of the Muslim community based on half-baked Orientalist understandings of Islamic theology. Such things get past quality control when #Islamophobia is mixed with incompetence

Muslims contribute so much to our society. So does the Jewish community. So do Hindus, Sikhs, people of all faiths, and minorities without faith. The people who contribute the very least to society are the people looting shops and throwing bricks. This is the reality of it.

I've been before many judges in my time. But I think Judge Robert Linford, recently presiding over the case of the Plymouth rioters, is my new favourite. Upon hearing the Defendants complain about "taxpayer money" & "immigrants" he unloaded with a series of withering put downs:

I suspect that if teenage boys don't regularly state ridiculous options and ideas, then the they aren't doing their job correctly. It's part of the Job Description for being a teenage boy, (and parents' jobs to hear such nonsense 🙂)

I've watched Wicked the Musical in the West End twice in the past 18 years and loved it. Whilst the movie is welcomed, it's unethical of Universal Pictures to not clearly state that the new 2hr40min film Wicked: For Good is only part 1 (half the story) in the standard promotional material

Nuance & a rhetorical qn: How can anything labelled "halal economy" advertise on Google, be hosted on Amazon Web Servers and be run by individuals or companies that have tools (including smartphones) or products with a supply chain linked to those who are persecuting Uyghurs?

This Doctor sounds traumatized by what he’s seen in Gaza. Just listen to him. Psychologically traumatized by israel’s sick antics.

We are entering a new phase of Islamophobia, fueled by far right wings groups who are increasingly emboldened and organised. Their focus among stoking hatred, ultimately to harm British Muslim communities. Coupled this with politically charged rhetoric, anti immigrant, fake news

This claim is totally false. It's misinformation that will only increase fear and concern in Jewish communities. The account may look like it's part of a well-known news channel but it isn't. Please check the authenticity of accounts before sharing unverified or unsourced claims

Based on how poor the quality of most of the submissions for School Parent Governor are that I've just read for a school (lacking key info, short of actual school engagement, therefore unempathetic to the audience), I'm shocked that their kids managed to pass the entrance exams

Formal Sartorial Wisdom 101: The only two knots a boy/man should ever use for their neckties (as everything else is unsymmetrically awful or a gauche overkill) 1) A Full Windsor Knot 2) A St. Andrew Knot Everything else is "(K)not right"
