ChatGPT has much to learn from Allister Heath for those who demand an “outraged tone”. Cripes, he’s exhausting. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01/2…

The 8.33 #Streatham @tlrailuk sardineometer reading is high this morning thanks to their cancellation of the prior train. I remain ever grateful that the rolling stock at least has overhead racks, meaning backpacks don’t take up valuable human/sardine space. #smallmercies

"At pace" seems to be quite the watchword in government. Not very persuasive because pace is something people want to see and feel, not just be told about. Keir Starmer uses it a lot. And 366 instances of it on gov.uk since July 4. google.com/search?q=%22at…

Hi Thameslink - journey planners are showing no services south from St Pancras to #Streatham - but there are northbound services. What is happening? Surely what goes up must come down… 🔄

Hi ⁦Thameslink⁩. Out of interest why does this train trundle via Tulse Hill, Streatham etc (though not stopping at any of those) rather than just going via London Bridge, Norwood Junction etc, which is significantly faster?

So glad the Russell’s Footpath exit to #Streatham Station has been closed to stop fare evasion. Notwithstanding that several stations along the route - namely Elephant & Castle and Herne Hill - have no barrier and most of the time Streatham’s own barriers are left open anyway.

Happy Brexit referendum anniversary day. It weakened the economy. Reduced investment. Tanked the pound. Damaged the City. Increased red tape. Increased immigration. Decreased the rights of the young. Staffed billions wasted. But hey - Johnson has PM on his CV and his partner in

Intriguing to hear so many of the objections to votes at 16 today. Consciously or otherwise, so many are exactly the same arguments which were used about every single extension of the franchise since the 19th century.

If I were to update Reagan’s nine most terrifying words “I’m from the government and I’m here to help” for Britain in 2025 think they’d be “I’m from the government and I can’t help you”. The politics of “government can’t” are a huge driver of current sense of Broken Britain

Is Andrew Neil really using the syntactical abomination “scared for” or is there a sub at Mail Online whose head is about to roll? Surely “I am scared FOR my country.” However, “I am scared ABOUT what is to come.” A worse example still is people being “excited FOR” things. Yuck.
