It occurs to me that a fun #AI project would be to train a model to detect obvious bad patterns in GBIF @biodiversity.social/@gbif maps and flag them for curation.

The Internet Archive continues to bring services back online. archive.org remains offline, which affects the page images for #BHLib. For the latest status updates, follow Internet Archive and Brewster Kahle.

So I guess multiple DOIs for the same article are going to be a thing ☹️ For example, “Global arthropod beta-diversity is spatially and temporally structured by latitude” has a Crossref (inactive Jan 2025) DOI doi.org/10.1038/s42003… and also a DataCite (inactive Mar 2025) DOI doi.org/10.60692/cf715…

Latest Update: Internet Archive continues to restore services. As a reminder to our BHL users, until archive.org is back online, BHL page images will not load. Sending support to our Internet Archive partners as they continue to make progress towards a full recovery.

#WikidataWeekly update #651 is out now. It includes a map of #libraries worldwide. I just added coordinates for Norfolk Island and the Solomon Islands libraries. Still plenty of missing libraries though. Why not help? Wikimedia Australia Wikimedia Aotearoa wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:…

A fantastic day 1 in #Harare at the the Africa Regional Nodes Meeting today. 📸 The meeting provided a forum for both GBIF nodes in Africa and the Secretariat to share latest updates, best practices and discuss key priorities across the region. 🌱 GBIF Zimbabwe
