It's careers week at school this week and we have had some fantastic visitors in school to talk to the children about the work they do. @SanchezPayne proved very popular on Monday with a brilliant talk about his career in football and the media.

We had visits from a criminal barrister, a district judge and a fascinating talk from Dr Iwi Ugiagbe-Green. West Yorkshire Police also came in to talk to Reception about the work they do. Thank you to everyone for their time #Careers #chapelallerton

On Tuesday, we were visited by a former pupil to talk about his career in football. Isaac Heath, who has just signed a professional contract with Everton, inspired Key Stage 2 with his talk #everton #evertonfc #careers #chapelallerton

We also had visits from Holly House Vets, a civil engineer, Leeds Rhinos and a local librarian. Valentina Hynes also gave an inspirational talk which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you so much for your time talking to the children. It has been an invaluable experience.

We had some more visitors yesterday who all gave wonderful talks to the children. Michelle Ross, who plays for Leeds Roses ice hockey team, came to talk about careers in Ice Hockey and the children had a chance to dress up in all her gear Leeds Knights #careers #IceHockey

We had visits from paramedics and Mike Wolverson, who works in sports marketing. @littlebookleeds also came in to talk to the children. Thank you to everyone for their time!

We’re having a wonderful week for #childrensmentalhealthweek. We started with a whole school assembly and each class received a special book all about positive self esteem. It is our wellbeing day today and we can’t wait to enjoy the day off timetable. 🤍

St Matthew's was buzzing to be a stop off point today for the Running out of Time Running Out of Time today and helping to be a part of climate action. The children made brilliant banners and welcomed the runners on their way to London. GreenSchoolsProject

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Matty Lee 𝐌𝐁𝐄 back to school today after 15 years to talk about his career. He inspired the children and some of us even got to wear his Olympic gold medal!

It's been a great start to our careers week today. We have had some inspirational visitors, including Matty Lee 𝐌𝐁𝐄 Harewood House Trust Holly House Vets, a lawyer, a vet, an occupational therapist, a lecturer and an accountant!

Year 5 at St Matthew's in Leeds are having a brilliant time dancing and signing with mary black as part of #createday24 We can't wait to perform this afternoon!
