Refurbishing and repurposing areas of the city that DON’T need it, while ignoring those areas that DESPERATELY need rehabilitation is incomprehensibly selfish. Is this really the legacy that Mayor Masters wants? A city that puts cars over community?

Sales of electric cars and trucks are taking off, and billions of dollars are being invested to build factories. The race is on to recycle used lithium-ion batteries –– but few will be available to reuse for a decade or more. nyti.ms/3PKLZoz

The effect of CO2 on the climate is undeniable—as is our reliance on massive amounts of energy to sustain life, economies & political stability. If we simply turned the oil taps off, we’d trigger a climate/energy version of “the bends”. We need gradual, persistent transition.

It’s a precarious situation. We need to carefully & persistently transition away from oil and gas at the fastest rate possible. Too fast and we risk cataclysmic political events…and economic mayhem. Too slow and we risk cataclysmic weather events…and economic mayhem.

What’s the problem in America? Well, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck… oh wait, someone just shot the duck. (Guns. The problem is guns).

Is there any intel on the influence Elon Musk will have over U.S. attitudes toward solar, batteries and EVs? He has influence over Donald J. Trump and the ability to offer insight. Maybe there’s already lots of discussion about this that folks can direct me to?
