Today we will complete this round of fairway topdressing. Holes 12&13 should be done by this afternoon and that will make 300 tons of sand spread over 30 acres of fairways. Next Sand application will be in March immediately after spring core aerification of the fairways.

We had a total of 7 trees come down around the course over the last 4 days. The rainfall total is now up to 22” for the season and thankfully we have a good stretch of no rain in the forecast. Fingers crossed we can get fairway mowers out Friday.

In a continued effort to make improvements in the immediate areas around the greens, we are leveling and re sodding areas. This will improve the playability and presentation of the collars around the greens.

Several trees down on the course. Lots of cleanup over the next several days and we will be concentrating on clearing the main playing surfaces and paths.

Cultural practices- the foundation of quality and consistent playing surfaces. We started fairway and rough slicing this morning and we should be wrapped up in a couple of days. Essential process during the season to continue downward movement of air and water.

Getting ready for the Women’s Intercollegiate event starting on Friday. It’s all about the details and the staff are crushing it along with some help from Graeme Cherry who painted the logo on 18 fairway.

Fall cultural practices. Including double slit seeding with rye and chewings fescue. An essential part to the overall process and one of the reasons the tees and fairways have seen an improvement in playability and presentation.
