That's a big, expensive tax cut that mostly goes to richer households. Utterly ridiculous to spend $4 trillion on tax cuts and then claim we're out of money so 14 million people need to lose their health care.

Compelling midterm message! Town hall attendee on Medicaid/SNAP cuts: People will die Ernst: Well, we all are going to die

Obviously callous, but also a tacit admission that the bill they think is “beautiful” will kill people - all for tax cuts for the ultra-rich

Michael Linden (@michaelslinden) 's Twitter Profile Photo

They know they can't defend their Medicaid cut, and they certainly can't defend using the money to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. So instead, they are simply lying and saying there are no Medicaid cuts. FACT: millions will lose coverage, and millions will pay more.

The GOP budget bill asks: What if we did the most evil AND economically destructive transfer of wealth to the people who need it least?

Michael Linden (@michaelslinden) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I really don't think Republicans have considered what happens when 15 million people go to renew their health coverage *this fall* and find that their costs for next year have suddenly jumped by hundreds of dollars.

Republicans in Congress can’t defend their vote to take away health coverage and food assistance from millions of Americans — so they’re lying about it instead. Don’t fall for it. huffpost.com/entry/derrick-…

Here's something everybody should be paying attention to: Congressional Republicans are trying to weaken the Affordable Care Act and put millions of people at risk of losing their health care. Call your Senators and tell them we can't let that happen. washingtonpost.com/health/2025/06…

Important point on the '80 hours a month' Medicaid requirements cutting health care for those who do work but can't control their hours. The Hamilton Project found a third of workers who work that amount overall would still be vulnerable to losing health care: hamiltonproject.org/publication/po…

I hope folks are starting to wake up to the fact that our budget gap is driven largely (perhaps exclusively) by repeated tax cuts that have mostly helped the wealthy. Republicans like to say we have a spending problem. But they are happy to "spend" trillions on tax breaks.

An increase of 10.9 million uninsured people, plus millions of others who will lose coverage if enhanced ACA premium tax credits expire this year, would reverse much of the gains in insurance coverage from the ACA.

Larry Levitt (@larry_levitt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Whether you call it a cut in benefits or not, an estimated 10.9 million people would lose health insurance as a result of changes to Medicaid and the ACA passed by the House. This would be the biggest rollback in federal support for health care ever.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries ticked through new polling in caucus this am from progressive-aligned groups that showed the megabill was underwater, per multiple ppl: familiesoverbillionaires.org/wp-content/upl…

lol, you cannot just simply wave away extending tax breaks for billionaires that would otherwise expire Extending them while raising costs for regular folks (through tariffs & loss of healthcare and nutrition assistance) is a CHOICE this Congress and admin are making

Nandita Bose (@nanditab1) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Two billionaires squabbling over tax breaks and influence - you can’t make this stuff up. Meanwhile, regular Americans are stuck with the tab.

Funny thing: Neither Trump nor Musk will admit that a big driver of GOP bill's deficit busting is tax cuts for rich. Musk because he wants to use deficit fears to destroy the state. Trump because he's lying about his pro-plutocrat agenda. Banner day for working class GOP/MAGA!
