Lovely example of shallow igneous intrusions impacting extrusive activity - shallower amplitude slice on LHS shows lava fields funnelled between topography related to intrusion-related uplift (intrusions shown on deeper RHS). Part of ongoing work with Prof. Nick Schofield... stay tuned!

Always intrigued to happen across a 'Reviewer's comment' when reading a GEOLOGY paper from the late 80's - seems to have been a short-lived phenomenon (and seemingly deployed on an ad-hoc basis?)

Last May, I put out the first version of a river flow tool, which traced the path of a raindrop downstream. At the time, the biggest limitation was that it was constrained to the US. Happy to share that we've now got a global version of the tool working: river-runner-global.samlearner.com

Very much looking forward to this talk, and indeed the rest of TSG2022 (my first in over a decade!). Note for folks down under, I'm fairly sure you can still register and can catch a large chunk of each day's action before bedtime!

Throwback Thursday to the time when Dr Liam Herringshaw and I curiously had near-simultaneous nightmares about Trevor Brooking and Stoke City’s camel-men, that were sufficiently terrifying to merit coverage by BBC Sport…. news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/funn…

✍️There's something seriously exciting happening in the world of batteries - an innovation that could pave the way for incredibly energy-dense, fast charging cells in our cars and smartphones. But there's a catch - quite a big one🔋 Link in next post
