Miriam Cates: Why this red wall MP says they were wrong over HS2 and wants money switched to local services yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/opinion/c⦠Ian Day Sir Philip Davies Esther McVey #HS2 #Yorkshire #Budget2021 #Tories #Sheffield #Penistone #Stocksbridge #redwall
I think this is what Rishi Sunak has just announced: For #sustainable #transport English city regions are to get only 5.38% of the budget that's being spent on #HS2 #unsustainable transport So much for #COP26
What did Boris Johnson call forests today at #cop26? "cathedrals of nature"? What is he sanctioning in his own back yard? The #HS2 scars torn across England mol.im/a/10154921 via Mail Online
lives, human, animal and plant, that building it will cost. The rest applauded when a lady said she didn't want HS2 but wanted local and regional transport. The North Does Not Want HS2, so pull the plug on it now Boris Johnson and start to give the people what they truly need
OutofTweet123 Kay Burley Dominic Raab I cannot understand why a high speed train to London can be called levelling up. Levelling up is a societal thing, across the UK. #HS2 would never help communities in Barrow or Whitehaven or Bridlington or swathes of Bradford etc.
RAIL Magazine @Rail I understand your anger but HMG knew the cost & programme delivery issues in 2015 and 2019 but did NOT share them with Parliament, Oakervee or the public. The decisions yesterday were inevitable. Had you allowed me the right to reply, you wouldn't face embarrassment
Yorkshire Against HS2 Rt Hon Sir Grant Shapps BBC Breakfast Naga Munchetty Alexander Stafford If I had a pound for every time I'd screamed at the telly this week I'd be rich. The mis-information AND dis-information being put out by people who don't even understand the failings of the now abandoned #hs2 eastern leg are unbelievable. No benefits = no good. It's simple.
RAIL Magazine The only thing I don't understand is that in every opinion poll on #hs2 it is deeply unpopular and more so the further north you go. The clamour seems to come from incredibly voiciferous vested interests whilst Alexander Stafford appears to represent his constituents
Andrew Marr I feel Labour ought to be reminded of their promises too π Labour puts Β£50bn cap on #HS2 scheme (2013) thetimes.co.uk/article/labourβ¦
