Solar as part of the Future Homes Standard consultation, completed! Offered solutions but mainly, fix the grid issues and costs & you can have a whole roof of solar! It is the only serious solution. Let's hope we finally get an impact assessment too! builders.org.uk/energy-sector-…

Lib Dem councillor said, 'I love renewables, they're awesome, just not in my back yard'..... I believe there's a term for people like him......

City Hall’s new position will be to actively explore the release of parts of London’s green belt for development. We'll be working with councils and others to secure as many new homes as we can on brownfield sites, but this alone will not be enough to meet our needs.

Angela Rayner (@angelarayner) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The green belt can often be low-quality land, poorly maintained and rarely enjoyed by Londoners. Development on carefully chosen parts of the green belt - done in the right way - could unlock hundreds of thousands of good quality new homes for London.

We've published new legislation to relax rules around permitted development for heat pumps. Changes will come into effect from 29 May and should make it easier for consumers to install a heat pump without a full planning application. Ā  For more info visit: legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2025/560/…

Civil servants don't often get great press, in part as they cannot practicably defend themselves so appear to really be a 'blob'. But they do a hard job, especially as they get moved around so much, but Matthew has had a stonking couple of weeks & deserves a follow! Ed Miliband

Eating my gherkin and egg on Rye bread sandwich and I genuinely forgot I was in an airport. All background noise phases out and the bugs, birds and animals take over. Nice work Helsinki Airport

From think tankers to build beautiful campaigners. I’m seeing a bunch of people now understanding the absolute stupidity of Part O regulations, in respect of them opposing mechanical cooling. Now I just need them to get the ā€˜simplified method’ solution & we’re getting there!

We are putting the power back in the hands of local people. That is why we have agreed eight new devolution agreements that will drive growth, housebuilding and transport šŸ“ˆšŸ˜ļøšŸš†

I read this & thought; I wonder what industries they're in & how money was made? Here/abroad? When? What were their regulatory barriers/supports? Sadly, others thought: Eye poke for racists Hard for Brits to create wealth Rape gangs?! Take their money Tax them This country!

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb! People need to realise how utterly pathetic the land use system in the UK is! If you even ā€˜blamed builders’ but now criticise this decision, it’s time to reassess what the issues are! theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/m…

Ah yes, the classic 'maximising profit' trope (and total nonsense for most builders), which supports a charity wanting to end homelessness but has more than Ā£21m in their coffers and more than Ā£17m of that allocated as unrestricted! …of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/en/charity-sea…

My report into the cost of net zero describes the way the UK wastes large amounts of money through a failure to properly manage net zero investment Windfarms have been deliberately built behind grid constraints in the knowledge that the electricity they produce cannot all be

Hi Sandra Laville. I believe your piece, 'Wildlife charities urging Labour to scrap ā€˜licence to kill nature’ in planning bill', uses flawed data (planning appeals) to conclude that newts/bats are not the reason for planning delays in 2024. Could you direct me to the data source?

I like the fact createstreets push for better, even if I don't always agree with them but this tweet exposes their lack of understanding about this issue and the need for strategic policy making. x.com/shortthought/s…
