FanimeCon Hugely disappointed. :( Especially this close to the event. If they dropped it next year I wouldn't mind, but people chose this con and made hotel reservations/flights on the premise they would be protected by masking. Not cool to change at the last minute.

FanimeCon Feedback from which attendees? The mandatory mask policy was literally the deciding factor on whether or not I would attend Fanime this year. You can either walk this decision back or refund my badge. And no, 'we don't offer refunds on badges' is not an option.

FanimeCon Excuse me how does this improve safety? How can you drop this info after the hotels have charged a deposit: 'Cancellation Policy: After 4/26/2024, a penalty of one night's room and tax will apply, per room or suite.'

FanimeCon people who disliked the mask policy made the informed choice to attend your event in spite of it. changing it last minute like this means people who now feel unsafe can’t cancel their hotel or change plans. do you care about all your attendees, or just the able bodied ones?

Very disappointed to hear this. It's an especially egregious move to announce this change TWO weeks from con.

Now my friend who is immunocompromised and had plans to participate in events cannot attend anymore.

We should strive to make conventions accessible to everyone.
