A large randomized trial of an antiviral for Covid (N>25,000 participants) with 6 months follow-up and commentary by Ziyad Al-Aly, MD on their role for prevention of #LongCovid thelancet.com/journals/lanin… thelancet.com/journals/lanin… The Lancet Infectious Diseases
Eric Topol Ziyad Al-Aly, MD The Lancet Infectious Diseases I agree, really important, but it needs combination therapy trials asap. Antivirals suppress, immunity eliminates, and this hasn't happened in chronics. So, could lead to selection of resistance as seen easily in culture. Suggest protease, nuc, and molnupiravir as ≈ ribavirin.
Andrew Gwynne MP Wes Streeting MP you stood alongside us and youve repeatedly told us "you get it" We are still awaiting engagement and action to see that you do Do we REALLY have to go through all this again to get you to notice? Daisy Cooper MP 🔶 Stephen Griffin Prof. Christina Pagel Ethan Ennals
Tom Andrews Blake Murdoch Eric Topol Is there anything that HASN'T been blamed on lockdowns? Shrinkflation in chocolate bars, perhaps?! 😉 Tyler Black, MD has insight. As Tom says, lockdown is a last resort, more severe if delayed, and after the 1st, should have been avoided. They exposed inequality and fragility.
