This is interesting as Northumbria Police Specials removed their SC Grades a number of years ago. Contractulations Miles! S/Sgt is probably the most impactful SC grade!

This is one of the best ways to manage the specials I've experienced. Directly answerable to the local Insp or Ch/Insp. Still need the SCI and above roles, but giving the local SCs a measure of operational independence and flexibility works better.

Well this is idiotic. When you roll all your 'specialist' SM accounts into a very small number you just lose connection. We've seen this before, it causes an initial bump in traffic, but rapidly drops off.

As the workforce figures were released this moring I did a quick total check. Congratulations, still shrinking and it still makes me angry. That is the figure from Sept 2024 to March 2025. 284 down Sept 24 to March 25. It's 584 down over the 12 month March 24 to March 25.

The tighter the Social Media team's grip becomes, the less represented they'll find their organisation is on Social Media. Nobody cares about stats, they connect with people and with stories.

Driving Updates! Lincolnshire Police SCs now have Bike Standard while Thames Valley Police SCs have Response. TVP apparently fitting SCs into slots where regs can't attend. That's a great way of getting the training a number of of have spoken about for years! tinyurl.com/muzwxsnd
